The Wacom tablet arrived today [13/07/2005]. This is a seriously huge piece of kit. The craftmenship is truely excellent, but you need quite a work area to take advantage of it. It's going to take quite a while to get used to it, with all the arm movements etc associated with such a thing.

Last I checked the 4.1lb mirage package had left TX, and was going through KY, It'll take some time to transport the next 1000 miles.

I might finally actually get my copy of mirage soon. The blasted courier didn't push the door bell, and as such no-one knew he was there. Talk about incompitance. This is the guys job, and all I ever see at the doorstep when they do appear is an individual hopping from foot to foot, obviously in a hurry, as though they are suffering some dire form of incontinence. I'm half temped to ask the firm to tell their workers to use the lavatry before they arrive, hell, they might learn something from the Jehovas Witnesses' methods ( now they make themselves heard ).

The epic quest continues, after the package has travelled over 1000km's the local courier still cannot deliver it. This time the guy didn't even leave a card to say he had been, and simply returned the package to the depot. I am getting extremely (edited)ed about this, and will take most of the day off work to sit down and wait for this bastard. If he cannot deliver it again I will be making some very nasty noises about Courier Post to UPS, who shouldn't have contracted this to such an idiotic firm in the first place.

Finally, it's here. I must say the overall package is pretty good, you get a very nice CD case for holding the Mirage and additonal CD's, and the animation book is excellent also. Unlike the demo download from the Bauhaus site, you get a very nice selection of extra tutorials on the CD, additionally you actually get a paper manual, all 355+ pages of it. This is truely excellent, and just goes to show the quality when you spend a little more getting a professional software system. The July special includes "The Animators Workbook, by Tony White" all nicely signed with a nice statement inside, and having flicked through it, it's definately worth the money ( that is, the $200 discount and the book being free with the mirage package ).

When they first said about the dog-tag on the key I thought they were simply describing a plastic piece with the code, but no, it's actually a dog tag attached to the USB dongle.

Now it's running with the key, and the final unlock code will come from Bauhaus soon to allow me to use it on any PC when I wish.

Regards,
Nuke Bloodaxe.
