"I wonder if Andy told you about this.
We are planning to organize Comicket NZ on 2nd or 9th of July 2006. We want to gather fan artists in NZ to one place and show/sell their art to the public.
Andy and I think you might be the best person who can design the poster for this event.
I have all necessary graphics, basically we want to lay out or put all arts of 2005 fan artists contest of GNC. I have all arts in a CD.
Would you be kind to design a poster for this first event?"
The Answer to that was essentially "Hell Yes!!". I'll be throwing up the various rough designs on this site, and keep you all appraised of current progress on this front.
Mixing the 6 or so different styles is certainly looking as though it's going to be interesting. Getting that kind of flow in a single poster will require a lot of careful fades, neutral background tones, and a very careful choice in font sizes, types, and lettering effects.
*Update 03/02/2006* The event was subsequently renamed to AMF, Amateur Manga Festival.
*Update 21/02/2006* Okay, so it's now Doujin Overload after a rather conclusive vote. The commitee remains the AMF Commitee. |
